Our website does not use "cookies" and does not collect any personal information on individual visitors to our site.

MHA of NYC only gathers certain usage information like the number or frequency of visitors, which pages were visited, the order in which they were visited, and how often they were visited. We also collect information regarding the search term used to locate information in our site, the Internet Protocol for the Internet Provider you used to access the Internet and the URL of the page you were visiting when you were referred to our site. This data is used only in an aggregate form and solely by MHA to improve our site for you and future users. This information is never disclosed to any outside organization.

In some areas of our website, we request that you provide us with personally identifiable information, such as name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Personally identifiable information is requested only if you appear eligible for the 9/11 Mental Health and Substance Abuse Benefit and want to enroll on line; we will use this information only to contact you regarding the benefit. If you qualify for 9/11 Mental Health and Substance Abuse benefits, as necessary to provide services to you, we will share your information with staff from the American Red Cross who provide the benefit. Other than the American Red Cross we will not disclose your personally identifiable information to any outside organization without your written consent. No information will be provided to any other organizations or vendors without your written consent unless required by law. For example, we will give out personal information to comply with a court order or subpoena or to assist in criminal investigations.

MHA welcomes children to use this site to learn about services and supports available to them, their friends and family. However, we encourage this to be done with their parent's knowledge and supervision. For this reason, MHA follows the guidelines for interactive electronic media published by the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau. Special notices urging children to get their parent's permission before providing any personal information have been incorporated into our site.
